Hi, new guy about to do first build!

Ever hear the saying "I cut it 3 times and it's still to short"

I only gave mine a few light taps and it popped right out. Assuming it may be more difficult with a heavier duty chain 🤷‍♂️
I know exactly how to fit a chain to be cut. So I've never been wrong on the length. With a roller chain you either have adjustable tension or set tension.

I don't run the kit chain, I run a hardend 40 chain from tractor supply.
On my bmx build I use a #41?? chain I found on amazon. It's actually quite decent, not as 'loose' as the kit ones are.

On the kit chains, I usually peen all the pins after I cut it to size, makes em fall apart less.

Just have to be sure not to bind the rollers. Even if the plates are moving; the rollers might not be. So you should check them after every ping(strike).
