8 miles into town

Is this a safe commute on a motorized bike?

You have a phantom, personally I'd ride at about 40ish so your not too much slower than traffic and in the more sketchy reduced sight distance spots I'd speed up a little more to give drivers more time to see you before they catch up to you.

In order to sustain those kinds of speeds I might build a bike with a water cooled KTM clone engine like what @ImpulseRocket has been considering. That would be a great build for the mountains

If you do the rolling hill technique you'll find the average speed for those 6 miles or so will be 45+ mph.
