Should be an easy question, is there a difference between the 415 and the 415h chain?

Chain Number Pitch Roller Diameter Betwwen Inner Plates Pin Diameter Average Tensile Lbs. per foot
__#415 (#42) 1/2 .306 3/16 .141 1,600 .26
__#415H (#42H) 1/2 .306 3/16 .141 1,600 .26

IIRC "H" means Heavy Duty. But as you can see, they are the same size.

note the 410, 415, 415h all have the same tensile lbs. #41 is stronger.

I have clearance isues. According to the chart the 410 has the same tinsil strength but is narrower. Has the 410 been used with any success?

Yes. There are quite a few posts recommending it. Lower mass seems to be the reason it runs more smoothly (?).
All the Sick Bike Parts sprockets are 410 compatible, and some of the rear single speed sprockets are, too.

You might have to grind down your engine sprocket a little on the inside edge so it fits inside the 1/8" chain. I bought a 410 compatible engine sprocket but it has a shorter collar (it is closer to bike centre line) and the hole is actually a bit too small, so I'm having to file it out, but that's taking me a long time to do so I might just get the bench grinder on the stock sprocket instead.

I looked on eBay and when it comes to 410 or heavy duty 410 chains all come up are for pedal bikes. For instance one of them was a the kmc heavy duty 410. Is that the same 410 that is in the charts and that we are talking about? One of the other brands I was familiar with was the z410.

There are three chains in use on bmx bikes and track bikes. Used to be some people using 415 moped chains but that was a heavy duty fad in the 90's. The bmx racers use narrower 5/32" chains or standard 1/8", freestyle bmx and track cyclists use 1/8 with standard side plates or heavy duty side plates, which do have _slightly_ higher ultimate tensile strength but also wider outside width and more mass.
I'm sure nickel plated silver KMC Z510HX will do the job and they are not expensive on eBay (£9.84 in UK). I haven't tried it yet, of course.

I retract my last statement. It is the same
