How about using a hub made for directly bolting the sprocket on...and modify it for 144 spokes- just a heck of a lot of accurate drilling, it would seem.
I had the sprocket welded directly to the hub. Right through the sprocket mounting holes. Worked like a charm. Just never can change the spokes, as some of them are permanently welded to the hub now too.
I have a 72 spoke wheel and I used a smaller bolt and nut. They fit nice and snug between the spokes. So far I have had no sprocket movement and no broken spokes knock on wood.
