You're going to want a 3 or 5 speed IGH to use as a jackshaft transmission ran to the left side of the wheel, instead of trying to run the bicycle gears.

Do you know of any good videos that go over this process? Also how much power could I gain when switching from the stock muffler to an exhaust that has an expansion chamber? I'm pretty new to all this so I apologize if my questions are common.

Depends on the exhaust. A nasty jack or a real mz65 is the best bolt on option

If you have a steel frame bicycle you can now get arc welders for less than a $100. If you decided to go the shift kit route GruBee has a decent one. Take that back doesn't look like Don is selling shift kits only anymore. You can find them on ebay but will need to up grade the freewheel.

The harbor freight el-cheapo will do the job. It's OK and it's less than 200. It's is a wire feed too.

Duty cycle on those are real low. 3 minutes of welding at 90 amps. The smaw one isn't much better at 4 minutes of welding at 70 amps.
