Squish gap question

I need to check the squish on the avenger before installing it. I just wanna make sure I do it correctly. I have 1.2mm solder wire. And I have smolik performance shims too. If I use a shim do I still use a base gasket too? If using a shim that will raise the squish right? Id like to be around 1mm. Any advice on doing this? Thanks

Measure if with just the gaskets first. If it is to thin for your taste, add a shim and measure again.

Ok thanks and just bend the wire in a L shape and then put it in the spark plug hole then turn piston up and down correct? Hell I did that with the wildcat 80 and using the 1.2mm wire and it didn't even swish the wire...

Maybe need to sand down the cylinder some

Yep, but make sure the solder wire reaches all the way to the edge of the cylinder
