How to fit muffler

I tried the flex pipe exhaust...the bike took a performance hit.

Now I run the mz65 clone that everyone hates, with the stock muffler welded on the end, with the lil tube removed from the end cap. Gained about 5 mph over my old bike, with far better acceleration. Same gearing. I'm still actually running slightly rich, but the performance is still good.

I don't hate the mz65 clone. I have the modified stock muffler on the end as well. I brazed a piece of 1/2 copper pipe in place of the narrow pipe it came with and opened up the internal baffles. Over all it works great, seems to be the correct amount of back pressure for the way I ride it.

So the flex pipe reduced performance or increased?

Reduced noticeably, compared to stock, even. I didn't re-jet though fwiw. Regardless, I'd say there are better options than the $40 flex pipe.
