Engine ramdomly started to idle high and uneven with clutch in

I will be checking and diagnosing the problem when I get home from work today. And the heater hose is the opposite of thin walled, it’s very thick walled actually and has woven fibers in the middle of it. From what I’ve read on many posts on the forum a lot of people are using it with zero issues. Now I’m sure in the future it will eventually wear down and need to be replaced, however it came in a 10’ length for $19 so I’ve got plenty of replacement if that time comes. At least that’s the theory! We shall see.
I'm just telling you how to eliminate two extra points in your intake where leaks can, and it sounds in your case have occured. I'm of the mind that if you can eliminate weak points in a system while maintaining proper function that is the best choice. Especially when it only costs around 16 bucks. That is 3 dollars less and 2 less problem points that you have now.
I know what heater hose is bro. If Frankie and Furry are having luck with it then it is possible. I respect both of their opinions, and they're not gona bulls**t you.
I have seen it collapse with my own eyes so that is the only reason I gave you the heads up. It was being used on a reed valve engine so it was even farther away form the heat source, and when replaced with silicone the collapsing ceased . I prefer 4 ply silicone hose for these applications, but for what you are doing a solid intake is the best. I honestly don't care what you chose and hope that it works well for you. If not.

Yea I understand what you’re saying at it makes complete sense. I was just wanting to tinker around with boosting my low end torque. In my honest opinion I don’t believe the air leaks are coming from any of the new hose connections I think it’s because I’ve opened and re-jetted the carb quite a bit in the last week and I think I’ve got some leaking around there but I am going to try and check it all tonight and find out what’s going on. I didn’t want to seem rude in my previous post and now that I read it, it comes off that way and I apologize! I’ll be sure to report back regardless if it makes me look like a dummy haha! Thanks for the help and links!

No worries here. Your right, half the fun is in the experimenting. You never know when someone might come up with something to make all our ears perk up. Look forward to your outcomes. As far as the dummy role in experiments, if you find yourself in that boat just look at the seat next to you. It's reserved in my name with a ton of frequent passenger miles.
