Couple project bikes for Staton Friction Drive

Yes, the Staton "dual engaging support rods" are designed to line up, and use, those holes. The friction kit also comes with the 5mm screws you'll need, one for each side.
However, if your bike is larger than 26", you will need to buy the "long dual engaging support rods."

The Staton kit will work on all 3 bikes.

Have fun.

Thanks, I ordered a bunch of extra parts to help line it up. Those little 5mm threaded holes on the inside of the frame do not go through. Won't it need to go all the way through to put a nut on?

Pretttty sure they go through all the way. Just about every bike does.
Plus, the braces will be mounted on the outside of the frame, and can be threaded outside in.
Go to the Staton website to look at pics.....that should clarify it for you. 👍

Mine don't go all the way though, I posted some pics of outside of frame. Those bolt holes I saw were only on inside, which is a bit strange.

Strange.
Is it a boost frame?
I'm guessing that you'd probably be able to install the support rods on the inside. I'd call Staton to verify?
If not, at least you've got the other 2 bikes.

Ok, checked out the rei website reviews and questions. One answer says, that you can install a rear rack. So, I'd think it would be safe to say, the rear support rods will work on the inside of the frame, so long as the free wheel/cassette and disk brake don't interfere. 👍

Only problem might be I won't have a nut, and might have to cut off some length. Looks like the bolt from Staton is 20mm long.

Thanks Cavity, will keep thread updated. Kit comes in on Tuesday. Now need to find some good road tires in 650b size.
