How to remove small bevel wheel?

^^^I agree.^^^

that gear DOES look like its hanging out suspiciously far... therefore something is more than likely up with that lil woodruff key.

no,the mismatch in the gear faces wont affect the clutch, unless the issue youre experiencing is that the clutch is "slipping". it isnt. its that gear missing the key! if the gear wont simply push back in place with a light tap...the key is probably wedged in behind it... or the shaft/hole snuck past quality control while they werent looking (or possibly, while they WERE looking!)

hint. experience has taught me that while its extra work... pull the rear sprocket off. that lets you push the clutch shaft out, along with the big gear. which then makes getting the small pinion gear and the key lined up without trying to throw any tools through walls after the twenty third attempt a LOT easier. not necessary...just easier. if they were straight cut teeth, different matter entirely. be thankful they arent herringbones!

also, gluing the key to shaft helps hold it in place during assembly (they cant fall out in operation, only during assembly!)
