Adding rear horizontal drop out

Has anyone cut off a rear vertical drop out and welded on a horizontal one? Or, is this too much trouble?

With the proper fabrication you shouldn't need to even cut the old one out.

Dont cut the old ones off. Make new horizontal dropout brackets & weld them to the original vertical dropouts. It will extend your length of your wheel base / rear dropout length. Also only weld along the edges of the dropout brackets & dont weld across any of your dropout tubing.
