Hey guys,

I've been fixing up old (mostly 1970's) mopeds with 2 stroke motors. I like 2 strokes. but...

I've been playing with this idea in the back of my mind for a while...

What if I got an old step thru moped with a roached engine, and converted it to electric? Might be a good way to learn a bit about electrical bikes, right?

I reckon if I had a speed limiter (like an "eco" mode) optionally limiting it to 20 mph, I could ride it basically anywhere I want. And when I get off road, I could switch it to full power.

This would probably not be a cheap project, but I'd learn and have fun...That's cool..

Tell me your thoughts, please. Thanks in advance for any advice you might have.

Where might I find a battery?

EDIT: aha!

EDIT: I have no idea what kind of range to expect. Ideas?

Here is a battery for you. Even for extreme cycling. Lol.

With the highest medium-duty cycle life in the industry at 520 cycles, this Group 31 battery is the ideal choice to power extreme cycling applications from sleeper-cab loads to lift gates and reefers.
