I bought a 66/80 cc engine from bbr. Getting ready to put the sprocket on the rear wheel with the two pieces of rubber and the three plates. Looking at the bolts and nuts they supply look really cheap. Does anyone just buy better bolts and nuts like grade 5 bolts and good nylock nuts to put the sprocket on?

I wouldn't bother mounting the sprocket to the spokes. It does work but not the idea situation. You can get an adaptor that mounts to the wheel hub, but there are a few tricks to get that to work.

You really need a disc brake hub and mount the sprocket to that.

There is a world of youtube on these various mounting methods.
