It's always a good idea to wash off any dirt and grit with some brake clean whenever it looks dirty, then put on new oil. I see too many grease balls rolling down the highway looking for headaches.

As you can see, my chains are cleaned and oiled at all times...I just took this pic a day or two ago...no grease blobs here...lol.

Moist enough...lol...I do wipe off excess though, but then again, I clean and lube them about every 100 miles or so.

Ps...In all these years, I have yet to change a chain out yet, but I do have brand new spares in my stock...lol.

I have run this same chain and sprocket on both the Zeda 80 and now the Phantom 85...It is about 5 years old now and running strong.

I have been using the same Amsoil 2 cycle synthetic oil to lube up the chain that I use in my pre-mix...Works great, gets into everywhere in the chain no problem.
