With a keyed ignition starter switch you'd need a relay to operate the starter. Wires going through the switch are way too small to handle the amps.

As far as I know we aren't really talking about security. We are just discussing possibilities of how the bt80 could be re wired into a different ignition system

Exactly. I know all they have to do is pick it up and toss in a truck or something. I'm just trying to delete the original hardware it comes with as I don't like (or rather have always had bad luck with ) twist throttles and like my thumb throttle
