My summer, 400 miles of Urban Fatbiking

My BBS02 rolled over 1000 miles last week, over 400 of that since I put it on my fatbike in May (my m/b has 650 since 1/1 it gets ragged out good too).

Started as a crisis. I needed a parking lot runner, wife getting cancer treatments. 4 months later she finished her last chemo, amazingly in a lot better shape than she started. Did someone pray or something?

My doctor meanwhile, says keep riding, over 5 years cancer free, and I need the mental health break.

So, I rode the city, did traffic sprints, followed pedal taverns with loaded bridal shower parties, rode all the tourist traps, greenways, frat strips, campuses. Sent her pics while she was stuck there, stayed out of patient waiting areas, kept smelly valet peeps out of my truck.
And I had a blast.

Thought I'd share.

P.S. have you ever seen a domestic flock of turkeys fly? Ours do. My m/b makes a great renegade turkey roundup!

I rode a lot of streets, but I also hit the bike lanes and greenways. Was late once, stupid me and bad me but I was late cause I wanted a night shot. found out I can get from downtown to west side twice as fast on bike than by car, its great. Still...I was supposed to be in the parking lot. My bad.

Cumberland River, Shelby Park, some other park I dunno, a downtown bridge strictly bikes and walkers its a pretty good network, I rode with commuters to east side. Rode the circuit a few days before the grand prix that made watching the race kinda special awwww.

And always fun to get close to those rolling pedal bars loaded by 2PM with drunks.

From 8th to the river there's no bike lanes. And further up, tbey're polluted with tourists on bird scooters going the wrong way. So if ya gonna bike the city you need all that 750W and pedal too cause its easier some places, and fun too if ya can handle the noise the NOISE!
