Can someone identify what this bike is, and possibly what it is worth?
I am thinking about purchasing it.
Thank You

Looks like this Zip Cycle a guy brought over to show me one time.

The "Indian" version (high end) bike, assembled by a tribe over in Mississippi, for Tom's company in Double Springs.

If it is the Indian, with all the little details, I'd say if it stayed in perfect shape, it might have potential as a collector's item.

Tom Bartlett is the one to send a message to, look under "T" on the Members List.

The guy who brought that one here "stole" it for, iirc $500 couple of years ago.

That's it, the guy selling it was trying to tell me it was made by Harley, but I'm a Harley guy, and knew that was incorrect. So what would a used one be worth with a spare engine?

I wouldn't have a clue, the bike frame itself is similar to the heavy old style cruisers that are now $350 and up at bike shops, in fact, it's bulkier looking than the high end Schwinn.

The front forks are worth at least $75 by themselves. And again, iirc, those tires were a premier type, maybe $20 each.

As far as using it daily for transportation, its is a friction model, I've never rode one more than the half mile I rode THAT bike. So you'd have to read the posts on that type system to get an opinion.

These were made from 1993/2003 from what I have read .Ibought mine for 50.00 from a guy who had no idea.I felt bad buying it so cheap after I found out new they sold for around 950.00...I love mine and thought about selling it,but have no idea what they are worth now.Maybe Tom Barlett will chime in and let know the history....

Another Ziphead has joined the conversation.

All the Zips I've personally seen, and most of the ones I read about here, are "Mint condition"....

I'd be interested in knowing what kind of heavier duty service could these bikes could provide.

Does anybody ride 2-300 miles per month?

And how does this roller design perform that all important engine break in phase, those first few tankfuls that seat the piston rings?

I'm imagining 1,000's of potential miles of with those engines, and zero problems with the frames.

I put in a standing purchase order, to buy ALL the used ZIPmodels you folks stumble across.
