use "happytime"gearbox 4 pocketbike engine

:cool:Brian, I'm trying my best to comprehend your concept.

The 98t sprocket would mount onto the h.t.g. crankshaft, which has the 20t drive straight-cut gear. This is on the clutch side of the engine. A new, slightly-longer hardened bolt replaces the bolt holding the straight-cut gear to the crankshaft. Attached to that hardened bolt is an adaptor which the 98t sprocket bolts onto. The 98t sprocket becomes the h.t.g.'s drive gear, and the original 10t driven gear is chained to the rear wheel's 44t sprocket on the left side.

Am I correct so far?

Brian, that 98t is WAY too much gear. At 11,000rpm, your top speed would be less than 3mph!

If you use a 10-tooth sprocket for the h.t.g. drive gear instead of the 98t sprocket, your top speed at 11,000rpm would be 29mph.

Other than that miscalculation, your concept seems solid.

I'm not a naysayer, Brian. Just trying to save you grief.

Hopefully, others can chime in to support or disclaim my findings.

Myron
