My project: 50cc Antique Honda bicycle engine.
Here's some pictures of my motored bike project I'm working on. It's a 1952 Honda Cub-F bicycle engine. It's a 50cc 2-stroke engine that puts out 1/2 - 1 hp.
I just got a few weeks ago, so I'm just getting started with it, here's how it looks now:
Considering it's over 50 years old, it appears to be in pretty good condition (hopefully with a little tinkering, it will run); and overall it seems to be a complete kit, I'm only missing a few connecting tabs to mount the large rear sprocket to the bicycle wheel, but those should be easy to replicate. First things to do will be to get some fresh paint on the engine cover and gas tank, also trying to track down a period correct Japanese bicycle to mount it to.
Hopefully soon it'll look like this one (on display at the Honda collection Hall)

ever since this post http://www.motoredbikes.com/viewtopic.php?t=874 i've been wondering if we'd have a chance to see one of those in action, keep us posted 8)
one more time, prolly not the last: there are a few GOOD reasons why MBc prefers members use our "upload picture" feature...
1) if it's in our database, it's ours, we can organize and backup our quickly growing collection of bikes and technical information.
2) consistency of format makes for a better-appearing presentation to the guest visitor, one of our major goals, note how you had to scroll back & forth to read this post, it's because the pics are wider than 600 pixels.
3) some of your fellow members are on dial-up, what say you cut your buds a break, eh? i'm getting a lot of complaints about large pics and remote hosting slowing down loadtime. one guy said there's a post that has like 8 huge .png's that he's never bothered to wait for. i hate that kind of feedback, & without our member's cooperation we're helpless to respond with a fix...unless...
4) a lot of the successful forums don't allow hot-linking at all, we prefer to not have to go that far but it's becoming a serious consideration.
i'm not picking on you, smithenhiven, just using the opportunity to once again point out why we have to have a few strictly enforced rules in place...it should be obvious our methods of madness are working, why fight it? please, everyone, help us out a bit? thanks 8)

I'll be sure to use the upload feature from now, I just had (most) those pictures already uploaded to my photobucket account, and figured I'd link them since that's what I'm used to.
