Top Speed?

So ive been struggling trying to get the bike to go above 23 mph.
I know its running a taaad rich, but if i go down in jet, it will get too lean.
Fixed an intake leak, got it running well 2 stroking the whole way, but the rpms just keep it hovering @ 23 mph with a 44 tooth.
Any reccomendations?
New axle bearings?

unless you're up around 400#, that's slow - is the motor broken in yet? I've seen it take 60 to 100 miles to get a decent seat on the rings, but lately they come up pretty quickly.

any wheel problem should be obvious by just pedaling the bike with the clutch out - chain drag shouldn't be that much, so real resistance would be a bad wheel

I've found missing or leaking gaskets on some of these and a piece of bubble wrap inside the muffler once, and had one 2 weeks ago in which one of the ports had never been machined out & was about 40% blocked.

Someone got one lately & said there were 2 base gaskets on it which might give real problems with port timing.

hang in there. as these things can be hard to find

I got an engine not long ago that had a ball of aluminum about as big as a peppercorn sitting in the case. you'd be amazed what kind of **** you find with these engines.

What size engine are you running?
