I currently just hit the 1000 mile mark on my ht setup. Mods include sbp expansion chamber, dellorto clone 14mm using a 53 jet, HD lightning cdi, 36 tooth sprocket with mm adaptor. Little things like lights, Bluetooth speaker, sbp throttle, mirrors, and saddle bags. I am getting the sbp shift kit soon and would like to get some help with gearing and top speed. My rear drive will be a sturmey archer xl-rd5. Right now I've hit 37.7 on the flats. Any help and or input is greatly appreciated thanks guys

Any help at all. I just want to be able to hit 45 top and cruise around 35. It helps only weighing 140. I don't have a computer to use the gear ratio calculator I searched for, and I'm not that good at math.

I have a front 160mm disc and will have a rear drum. I feel safe going close to 40 mph right now plus the law in my state is changing. Has to be registered, endorsement on state id, and 45 top on state highways

I've given up on trying to tell members that a bicycle it not safe at higher speeds. Most will go fast anyway, so I encourage them to use premium wheels, brakes and headlight. Cagers will pull out in front of you without looking whether you are pedalling 10mph or motoring at 45mph.
The first line of defense is the strong headlight and the second is strong brakes. After that, its in the hands of the paramedics.
Looks like Ryusei139 has equipped his bike well.

By the way, Muncie, Indiana is the home of one of my favorite cartoon characters; Tom Slick.

Thank you guys for all the care and concern, but I ride like I value my safety and others as well. 1200 lumen headlight, turn signals, working brake light, running lights. Always have a 360 view of what's going on in traffic.

i ride like i stole it but im in the area to get away with it :)

but, a few years on a moto has taught me many things.... HIGHBEAMS ON ALL THE TIME :)

what I think happens wheelbender is that once they see its a bicycle they know it can't be going very fast and so ignoring what their eyes are seeing they pull out in front thinking they have enough time. probably an unconscious process.
