Has anyone purchased one of these and have pictures of it. Would like to see if it is the same quality when the company was BMP. Thanks

The pictures on the website are old stock photos when the company was BMP. If anyone has any current picts of a friction kit purchased from Roadbugmotors, please upload. Thanks

Looks to be BMP reborn. I might just buy a kit to check it out. I made
a modification to that checked type roller about 4 years ago that is still
working very well with a Kenda Kross tire. Using a diamond Dremel disc,
I cut deeper grooves parallel to the checking. It grips sort of like a pipe
wrench.

I wore out my BMP roller. Adding those grooves wouldn't be a bad idea if it doesn't throw the balance of the drive roller off, thus wearing out the bearings. I also wore out my bearings on my friction drive. I've got a GEBE now but I've got a friend that wants to motorize a bike and if roadbug motors friction drive kit is the same as the BMP kit, I wouldn't mind steering him in this direction. So if anyone has any picts of their RoadbugMotors friction drive unit. Please upload in this post. Thanks

I just ordered the Roadbug friction kit with a 1.25" drive roller. (Going to power it with the 49cc/52cc monsterscooterengine) Will take some pictures and upload when it arrives. Not sure what bike Ill put it on, maybe buy a new one.

Fish, I haven't had any problems with the roller. As long
as the grooves are fairly uniform, it's a good way to rejuvenate
an old roller.
Say Fish, do have any idea what's going at GEBE, I've try a number
of times lately to check out there site & all I get is 'server not found'.
Have they gone out of business? Even tried on a different PC.
Where I live it's too wet for friction drive much of the time, & my
homemade belt drive eats clutches like waffles.

That being the case, don't use less than the 25 to 1 mix on
break-in. I was misinformed by BGF to use 16 to 1 which will
quickly clog your filter & diaphragm. Having spoken with others,
an hours run time varying the speed between 3000 & 7000 rpm
is all the break-in you should need. They're really loud at first,
but once some carbon builds up in the can, they quiet down
a good bit. An after market muffler is kind of a waste on a
cheap engine like this. (silk purse/sow's ear) Be sure it runs
okay for a while before investing in mods.
Scoot, if this is your 1st fric-drive, a tip. Pedal off to about
7 mph before giving it throttle & do so gradually. This will
save your clutch & your tire. What kinda of bike? What tire?
