Build of Recumbent with RS 35cc

In two years I have put over 1500 miles on it without any problems from the torsion bar suspension, it works real nice. However, I never felt this to be superior to coil springs, I made torsion bars because they interest me. I also have concerns that they could fail and cause a serious accident. The welded fittings are especially worrisome to me. That's why I included suspension stops that also serve to hold the bike up if a failure occurs.

This picture shows these additional parts, there is a short piece of rubber hose to serve as a bump stop. The main function of these additional rods is to take over if a torsion bar fails.

Thanks for taking note and good luck with your build.
