That looks like your needle bearing came apart to make those 3 gouges.

A piece broke off of one of the wrist pin clips on that particular occasion. It was then broken into several smaller pieces which gouged, and also lodged into, various other parts. Pieces were lodged into the spark plug, into the head, and into the piston.

On another occasion a piston ring was broken during re-installation of the cylinder required for a build on a frame where the bottom end is to go in separate from the top end. A piece was broken into smaller pieces, of which one was lodged into one of the ports as seen here. P6230760.jpg
 
You can only push these little engines so far unless you want to rebuild them between every run like dragsters ;-}
 
always insert those spring clips so the little "prong" is pointing in the same direction the piston travels.otherwise it vibrates up and down, fatigues, and snaps off...

or better yet, get internal circlips , the type with the holes that need pointy pliers...
