    Question Commuting in West Virginia

Well I am looking to buy a engine. I will be commuting around my town in Wv. The problem is I live up on a mountain; it is kinda steep in some places but i think that a 50cc engine should be able to handle it. Anything I should know before getting this engine? And are any of you common to steep commutes or are from the same state?

Adding a shift/jackshaft kit may help more than engine choice. It routes the engine power thru your pedal chain so you can change gears for climbing and top speed.

Would that still constitute an automatic? Because law here is pretty lenient except for ccs and speed. Also if i did could they even notice?

Gearing is way more important then engine choice in steep hill climbs!

either that or just get a 56 tooth sprocket surely that will get you up almost any hill you wont move very fast but it should climb like a monkey
