Okay so far I've chopped the NE frame, smoothed off *most* of the attachment tabs, and brazed in brass ball bearings where I cut off the cantilever lowers. For the forks, I took the fork covers with ears from my '68 Honda CL90 parts bike and modified them to fit the Whizzer forks. I machined the holes and c'bores in the triple tree top plate for the bar risers taken from same parts CL90, mounted the bars from an old GT bmx, and today was going to mount the 90 headlight/speedo. housing, but the Whizzer forks are not as deep, nor as narrow as the vintage Honda units. In my search for material to cut/machine extensions for the housing I came upon two matching 'Bendix 70 Mexico' brake arms... They look very good in this application! Pics to come as progress continues- Oh, I also hooked up the Worksman drum brake front wheel on the fork today as well. I wasn't going to use a front brake, but the Whizzer throttle control has the lever so, well, there it is.

Funny story there; Well more long and pointless than funny perhaps...
I got that tank on e-bay years ago for my second motored bike (in 2001 I think?), and I was very, VERY poor at that time. I wanted a Monark Super Twin tank, but couldn't afford one. I wanted a Whizzer tank as the consolation prize, but couldn't afford one.
That tank came up, and with shipping I was able to afford it, though I lived on off brand Top Ramen for about three or four weeks. I found out many years later that there are only six of those mopeds known left to exist in the world, so that tank is one of seven from a 1960 English moped. Funny that it was the cheapest tank I could find at the time and it turns out to be something a little bit special. I thought it perfect for this build...

HeeHee your always pulling a rabbit out of your hat. Very cool concept if im reading your mind a little. Great find on the tank years ago. Its funny how by shelving an item in the past someday comes "to be" on some future project. Great start so far. May the bike gods be with you.

I guess when one spends most of their life in poverty (not complaining- it's the path I chose/choose; One can have freedom, or luxury, but it's a rarity to afford both. I choose freedom.) you become very creative in 'adaptive re-use' to build things or keep things running. i also come from a long line of artists, poets, dreamers, and creative engineers... As an artistic type myself I just see what can be from a pile of scrap...
I'm outta here to do more work on this and a couple of other projects...
