that's very cool BSA
and many have been asking for an easier softer way to attain a good light
--------------- without using batteries ---------------

that little wattage bulb shouldn't be taking much from your elect
power to spark plug -- have you noticed any drain (loss of power) ?

have fun as you ride that lit up THING

No not as such, although you will need an on off switch as starting cold with the light on is very difficult, you will need to increase the idle speed and make sure that the bike is plenty warmed up if you want to turn the light on while idling if you see what I mean.

worth a little trade off I would think

well I think that does tell us that you may be loseing
a little juice to the bulb there BSA
but - let's face it -- having a steady burning light -- is a great THING

ride the heck out of that lit up at night MB THING

We're happy for you. But does 3 Watts make very much light?

I've seen a vid on uToob with a guy that did the same thing with low wattage front and rear lamps. It worked well enough for him to be seen, probably even during the day. It didn't look like enough light to ride at 20+ mph but something is better than nothing. If Simonator had a simple system like that on his first MB test run at night he wouldn't have been creamed by an SUV. You'd be surprised how much more space and respect the cagers will give you if you're lit up during the day. I say its a must have.

And even if it doesn't give all of the light that one might wish, then you just add one or two battery operated lights. Now you've got light and you have backup in case one fails.
That's bound to happen if you ride much.
