Jemma -- PLEASE -- consider kerf's points made
those of us here on this little dirt road where I live
had our water wells drained due to a large Indian casino close by
there were ground water restrictions in place enfoced by the County
but - Indian reservations are exempt due to being a sovereign nation
a local news reporter came up and did a story
then other news agencies did more stories
all this lead me right into our Congressman's office with an appointment
with ALL of the news people with us
IT WORKS--IT TRULY DOES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hoping that you will be able to ride that MB THING

I have already tried that locally over my treatments for my condition - or lack of it - they arent interested in the individual over here.. they will always go for the organisation. I could make the point that the machine is what it is.. a 2hp strimmer motor on the back of a pushbike... but even if I get support from the 'general public' that will be me all over the local papers which is a serious risk to my personal safety.. and thats assuming that they actually write down what I say, not what they thing the should write down to make better publicity out of it.
I can try another newspaper company I suppose, but I hold out little hope.. since even I do get support from people - or the police get a public kicking for the way I was treated (as independant from the cycle issue) I will be - to use a phrase - a 'marked man' when it comes to the local cops....
I am so tired of pushing to get what I am owed from organisations. For example... the NHS has more concern for stopping people smoking and advertising about their programmes.. than they do about some cancers. If its in the news... it gets treated, if its something like stomach or colon cancer.. you have to take people to court to get drugs.. because they are 'too expensive' ... this from a organisation that is actually in profit for the first time in 50 years! There is other fun-ness I could list, but alot of that is very personal.
All I have ever wanted is to be able to live my life in peace, and it seems wherever I turn and whatever I try and do there is someone or something blocking my way.

Which is all fine... but Chelmsford is a 45 mile round trip... and you can trust me that I will be stopped by every cop from there to here, not to mention that most of the back roads are bad and packed with nutcases doing about 60mph.. which is the reason why I *dont* go riding on back roads around here.
I could get a letter off my doctor, but that wont make the blindest difference to the average traffic cop around here... well known to be the most vicious traffic depts in the UK - a fact they are apparently proud of.
What I cant understand is that in any collision between my bike and another vehicle i am not going to come out the winner... (not having strapped 10kg of C-4 to the top tube). And the stupidity of requirement for a full face helmet on such a machine.. devices which actually make me physically ill.

Around here our police departments have a Chief of Police, the head law enforcement officer. Photos of him in a compromising situation usually result in better cooperation from the authorities. Not trying to give anyone ideas but ......................

Some say you fight fire with fire. I've always found getting a little dirt on it is more effective.

I wish I had of been into this alot sooner.
But I have been pulled over many a time by the "Friendly Police (Policy Enforcers)" here in Western Australia.
Whilst riding my MotorBicycle
The look on their faces, when I indicate my reservation of rights under protest and duress and intents to serve notice on them should they choose to continue a trangression against my living soul is quite funny.
Of all my years working in IT and thinking I need to get somewhere in life.
There has been nothing more freeing than learning the truth about Law.
I don't know where you are placed these days as this post is a little old.
I get all kinds of reactions from coppers when I turn the table around under the 'full colour of right' and simply ask them to state their claim under their full commercial liability.
I have had two coppers hop in their cars and run when I ask to see their Three forms of ID whislt recording them.
If this is any help, and you don't know yet, there is a huge difference between something that is legal and something that is lawful.
I go for lawful as I am a man who in the-truth lives peacefully on the land.
Riding these things has to be in breach of the peace to really be a lawful claim of good standing and even then usually their has to be some injured party, well ask a copper that.
Ask them about 'obligation', put that word on them and watch them turn dum.
It is such a shame that our so called 'society' has become what it is today over the centuries or millenia of neglect.
I don't neglect no more, I actually decided to start riding these things to feel free again.
Then I realised that it was much simpler than that, I don't even register my Private Automobile anymore.
And these so called law people are getting the message, in-truth.
Truth cannot be told, it can only be realised.
Judges cannot uphold one law and neglect another from the same page.
A Judge these days is nothing more than a business administrator.
They hate it when I state the constitution and my right to 12 Judges (Juristic persons) for proper court de jure.
Usually they vacate the room quickly.
We are powerful people don't forget that.
No amount of reading endless Acts, Statutes and By LAws is going to reveal any difference of fact that we are free people.
They are nothing more than policy.
Silence is consent, argument is dishonourable, just say I do not recognize you and I do not consent to contract.
I reserve all my natural inalienable rights.
Cheers, peaceful riding, and stay calm, cops hate cool people, it takes away their power.

If that link doesn't work, Scroll down to "Schedule 2 Exempt Vehicles", click on "18.A vehicle including a cycle with an attachment for propulsion..."
You should find this:
Hope this helps!18 A vehicle (including a cycle with an attachment for propulsion by mechanical power) which—
(a)is adapted, and used or kept on a road, for an invalid, and
(b)does not exceed 508 kilograms in weight unladen,
is an exempt vehicle.
