I just found that my bike runs & powers lights without a battery. I have wondered what good is having a battery anyways? Can anybody point out a practical advantage? I have had to replace these & they cost 34.00. What do they offer other than another expense?

What is the best way to wire a Whizzer to eliminate the battery, but still have head-lamp & tail???

Hi Zomby, the bike runs fine, and will operate the lights with battery, with dead battery, or no battery.

The battery is there to support the lights when engine is off (DOT, and vehicle code) and to provide amperage for the horn (DOT) and to keep the headlamp from flashing especially if you use turn signals.

Hi Zomby The battery is part of the electrial regulator , It helps you from having voltage spikes that blow bulbs.If ypur not running any lights no problem...Bill Green
