Hi, what size HP freight motor do you have. did it fit the mounting kit easly, and think other bigger motors would fit the mounting kit.

Where in SC are you? I'm in Summerville and I grew up in Columbia and Lexington. I ride my bike on the back streets for safety and cruise between 25 and 30 mph with my 44t sprocket. People stop me everywhere wanting to know where I got my bike.
I looked at your bike pics and I have the same bike!!!
Mines a '73 collegiate in Sierra brown. I got it at the thrift store for 10 bucks and did a minor restoration on it. I liked it so much, I couldn't bring myself to put an engine on it. I pulled a Huffy Storm from the trash pile and rebuilt it to use instead.
Are you sure you have a 50cc engine? Yours looks like a GT4 66cc engine to me. Mine's the GenII 50cc standard.

You can get piston ring spreaders on ebay but I don't own one and I've been playing with small engines most of my life. I have some flat jaw needle nose pliers I work between the ring gap and open them up enough to slip over the piston top. Start with the bottom ring first when installing.

To work on your clutch there is a good thread at the other forum. Click here:

Here's a thread on the other forum for South Carolina Moped Laws. The information is current and complete to the best of my knowledge but most police won't hassle you about brake lights and turn signals. I run a headlight off the magneto all the time and most cops are happy with that.
Anything else I can help with, let me know.

I think i know what you mean. The pump probably has no clutch. It doesnt need one ,but the auger does .That sucks cause 99.00 is cheap for that motor.I think I still am going to look at it tonight.Thanks.
