  1. Occchopper.. It's sangesf.. They keep trying to ban the accounts I create, because they are trying to keep their friends gas motor businesses going in Florida, even though at this exact minute they are not legal to put on bikes.

I am interested in this case thanks
  3. im sorry, no i didnt. im green at this. do you have a pic of the "oil lite bushing"?, or can you describe the location?

    Thanks Bill
  4. Have you soaked your bushing? The honda clone 4G trans has a oil lite bushing that needs to be soaked. It is recommended to use heated 30w oil [no additives] and parafin wax. I heat my oil in a old crock pot.Bushing should be totally submerged.Temp around 200 parafin wax melted and stirred. cook for 45 + minutes.
  5. Hi,

    Thanks for responding!

Yes,the grubee kit gt4 belt drive, chain driven if I am not mistaken.

I pulled the triggger and bought it last night. 299 less 20 on sale, plus 38 to ship, 31 lbs total.

Yes, subaru and tanaka CHAIN drive by Staton.

    http://www.gasbike.net/grubee-skyhaw...2515-prd1.html

I also bought a 44 t sprocket for later use 20.00, ship included

I had to give this kit a shot. Ive heard overall good things about this grubee hs -honda 50cc clone, and the price is toughh to beat.

Have you heard anything about this kit, good or bad?

Thanks again, and Ill post some pics soon.

279 for the grubee gt4 rear mount kit. (engine included!)
sounds like its worth the risk.
    509 for staton subaru
    629 fo staton tanaka
    your thoughts?
    thank you

    First to clear things up:
OK, 279 for the grubee gt4 rear mount kit. (engine included!)...are we talking about the chain driven, rear rack mounted HuaSheng 49cc engine kit ?
And then the Subaru and Tanaka kits are friction drive...right?

If the above is so, I would get the rack mounted, 4-stroke Grubee for 2 reasons...1 the price and 2 because it's a 4-stroke with a good drivetrain. My second choice would be the Tanaka, because it's my 2-stroke of choice. Third would be the costly Subaru. Even if the last two are chain driven as opposed to friction drive...the Tanaka gets my vote for second, the Subaru gets third.

These are just MY personal opinions...take em for what they're worth ...

    no prob!
    a. yes, the wide bottom bracket spindle came with the kit...as well as an adapter to convert the old style large bottom bracket shell to accommodate this smaller diameter bottom bracket set-up. It also comes with the wide steel cranks, which I did not use.
    b. the rack/tank I got from bicycle-engines.com...$42 if irc.
    c. this was about my 4th build so it only took a couple of hours to get it up and running. Had it dialed in, in less than a week. The tweaking is an ongoing thing as I am constantly upgrading things (like grips, seats, brakes and the likes)...it's like a project that just keeps getting refinement, and it keeps on running strong!

    Hey there,
Here are the answers to your questions...
    a. got most of my parts from <bicycle-engines.com> and some from <spooky tooth cycles>.
b.the 49cc Huasheng 4-stroke is a very good clone of the Honda GXH50...hard to tell them apart!
    c. so far it's been a very reliable little powerplant...2-3 pulls to start when cold...1 pull when it's warmed up. It cruises at 30mph all day long with a 44t rear sprocket, easily. Climbs decent hills at 20mph with no peddaling...not bad.
    d. bicycle-engines.com has engine parts for this motor, as does spooky tooth and several other websites listed on this site.
    e. yes, I like the aluminum framed bikes and have several of them. Even though the two I have engines mounted on are cheap Chinese junk per se, they are holding up just fine and I thrash them EVERYDAY...seriously. Steel is normally stronger, but nothing is quite bulletproof unless it's overbuilt. I've raced all different framed mtn. bikes (titanium, cromoly, aluminum, carbon fiber and many combinations of all of these) and aluminum is pretty hard to beat in all aspects. To each their own of course.

And as for the occ chopper, I say go for it, those are pretty cool bikes in my eye and fabrication is part of the uniqueness of each build...no matter what. No rush, take your time and fabricate as you must...the rewards are great! Cheers!
